Building on previous activities, the team of Domonic Corradin and Joshua Dominick from Krankin’ thru China finished their first long-distance trek in China, challenging themselves and their concept to bring their message of ability and hope to China's disabled community.
The duo were joined by Wang Feng, a new addition to the team, who hails from the city of Zaoshuang in Shandong province. Wang Feng, who became paralyzed at the age of 15, and Domonic used handcycles, while Josh followed on a bicycle. The team began in the foothills of the Himalayas in the city of Shangri-la, passing through some of the most beautiful and stunning landscapes China has to offer, including sites like Tiger Leaping Gorge, Jade Mountain, the ancient town of Lijiang and the walled city of Dali.
In addition to our own desire explore the remote reaches of China and go for the extreme, the ultimate goal of this trek was to raise awareness about handcycling and disabled sports, but in a greater sense to also inspire people to explore the world around and push their own limits.

Trip Route
Departing from Shangri-la after acclimatizing to an elevation of 3,600m above sea level (nearly 11,000 feet), we continued along the Eastern Ring, riding horses at White Terrace Waterfall. Later, we arrived at the headwaters of the Yangtze River before reaching Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the Hymalayian foothills. Passing through the UNESCO Heritage Site of Lijiang, home to the Naxi people, we continued to Dali and Erhai Lake where we met up with Bike Health Life, a handcycling team of 20+ athletes from Taiwan for a circuit around Erhai. Our final stop was Hong Kong, where we met with local officials and organizations. |
